Low Cost Health Insurance Policy

Healthcare Industry Uncovers $2 Trillion in Savings

Our countries biggest physician, hospital and insurance trade groups are coming together to agree to goals to reduce healthcare expenses by approximately $2 trillion within the next decade.

Major medical trade groups are to meet in Washington with President Barack Obama to affirm their support for a plan which will reform healthcare in this country. Their privately developed plan will mirror the one currently being put forth by the government.

A senior official at the White House said the pending meeting could have major positive consequenses that will affect the debate on healthcare. The need to curb cost growth must be addressed, and it seems like it will be with this gathering.

Coordinating care and bundling payments are the beginning steps for providers on the private side. The President is proposing the same shift for the Medicare portion in order to reshape the health care industry this year.

These trade groups have projected a annual spending decrease with the more streamlined and efficient care being given. They are projecting a $2400 reduction for a family of four five years from now, and nationwide a reduction of 3% for all healthcare expenses in 10 years.
